nothing but blue skies

Halloween is it? I'll tell you something frightening... how good Flux Pavilion is becoming! Instead of doing shots through my eyes and terrifying (even more so) the local girls on a Halloween Saturday night, I'm sitting here in my pants (still a shocking sight at least) wondering if there is anyone or anything Josh can't remix? Jamiroquai is his next victim with what can only be described as one of the biggest dubstep remixes of the year. Fucking pump this stream!

jakwob does jessie j

Prepare yourself for more than a days quota of the letter 'j' in one quick post. One-to-watch Essex girl Jessie J has had her already juicy track 'Do It Like A Dude' scrubbed by the very jexciting Jakwob, resulting in something that's rather jolly.

tatties

Here are yet more big, bouncy bra fillers from production-slave DCUP; an unstoppable man who keeps churning out thick, creamy remixes. I can't seem to stop myself from posting his work so expect more and, at the rate he's going, expect it pretty soon.

Danny Byrd: Killing it.

Danny Byrd, over the last year has come completely back onto the drum and bass scene, and I welcome the Bath boy with open arms. With tune after tune out at the moment, he seems to be doing nothing except for producing amazing tunes. Also I Love how Danny hasn't veared over to dubstep like quite afew drum and bass cats, but is still plugging his soulful DnB with style, working with big names like Sigma and Netsky of late. Found this the other day, and daaaym is it a true feel good tune. Danny takes on the Swedish House Mafia here, with some real warm synths and good use of vocal sampling.

claes rosen's freakend

After a bleak morning shuffling around the arse-end of Hastings, slumped on a crusty Job Centre sofa next to someone who can't spell their own name, I'm very grateful to Claes Rosen and his freshly released EP Freakend. On what was a seemingly dilapidated day, Claes' new record has brought some much needed nourishment and photosynthesized my wilting, unemployed (thus useless) limbs; I practically marched home. As a further adverse effect I might drop Claes a line and see if he wants to team up and pilot a soap set within a Job Centre called 'Freakenders'. Thoughts?

Late Night Dub.

Hello you lovelies! How is it cold enough in Hertfordshire to ice over your nan's drive, and it's only October? Jesus. Well. If you're freezing alike myself, you'll be wanting some tunes to bop along to and bring up that temperature of yours. Yeah, of course you do darling.

Remember Pendulum back in the day? Yea. Wern't they so much better? Painkiller. One of their last decent songs (I'm really sorry to say, but I do not rate them at all now), get's a lovely dub rework by Kouncilhouse, and fuck me, this does really rock the estate.
Pendulum - Painkiller (Kouncilhouse Remix)

Next up, a great old school tune. Apparently released in 2005, but my ears hadn't been grazed with it's garage beauty till the other day. Big old school nostaliga. Wookie brings us this.

Gabrielle - Sunshine (Wookie Remix)

This is beautiful. Came out this year, but again, only just found out what it was. I heard it aaages ago on a Giles Peterson (utter king) show on Radio 1. Throwing Snow is the artist. Four Tet, Joy Orbison kind of vibe, and when it hits 2.46 it's so damn tasty! This is an essential for any true music fans. Definitely keep an eye on this interesting man.

Throwing Snow - Un Vingt

And to finish off, a sound that is if the Boog-a-Loo Crew and Joker made a child, this is the sound the child would make. A lovely little Starkey remix, with some really interesting producing. I'm not a massive Starkey fan, but this tune is ace though. Sounds like a lovely original also.

Rudi Zygadlo - Resealable Friendship (Starkey Remix)

This will make things hotter than your nan's iron kettle.

i love all

There are two methods of celebrating Human Life. One is by successfully rescuing 33 miners stuck down a Chilean copper mine for 69 wife/mistress-free days. The other is through a remix that's been winched deep from a Scottish granite quarry, emotionally embraced by the mayor of Linlithgow and fitted with some Wayfarers. Yes, it's another brilliant Grum remix. For those who don't enjoy singing then you might be more interested in the dub mix.

Keeping on Topic: Flux Pavilion brand spanking new EP.

What it says on the tin. Picking up from where McMess left off, It's brand new Flux Pavilion! Oh, hi by the way! You probably havn't noticed but I've been absent for a while on account of touring Eastern Europe and the always exotic Bath. However, this will make up for it. Every time I write a post about Flux, I always write some soppy namby pamby stuff like 'Flux is the man at the top of the dubstep scene at the moment'. Well, nothing has changed. Flux repeatedly kills it with every EP he releases. Nothing will stop him I reckon, not even a dubstep meteor to the face.

Entitled 'Lines on Wax', Flux Pavilion collaborates with english hip hop/dubstep enthusiasts 'Foreign Beggars' who are also getting more and more know for their 'dub-hop' (Yeah, I just made a name for it). Lines on Wax is a tune which will make your ears bleed no doubt, heavy wubs counteracted with shrill synths. A lovely jump up dub tune.

Flux Pavilion & Foreign Beggars - Lines in Wax

However, my favourite tune off the EP is 'Haunt You'. It has such a fresh sound, and the sample that Flux utilises is just perfect to float over the top. This leaves such a ghostly sound - which is picked up in the break, which is beautifully worked with some piano and ultimately gives the tune a whole new depth. This song is easily in my top ten tunes of the year.

Flux Pavilion - Haunt You

Flux, well done pal.

hoxton re-edit

Being a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to creativity, I decided to re-cut my latest mix Hoxton as there were definitely a couple of dodgy mixes in the 78 minute version. I've pulled out a jaw-dropping 23 minutes, so you might end up listening to the whole thing. Thanks if you do!

udders

Hopefully, before having your ears force fed 'We No Speak Americano' every minute of the day on Radio 1, you might have been familiar with the work of brassiere enthusiast DCUP. His padded Jazzanova remix made my top 10 of last year. You'll know then that his 80's disco house style is so irresistible it's more than likely to result in your mammaries popping out after some involuntary throwback moves in the middle of Urban Outfitters. Here are his latest gel-filled technological breakthroughs.

chapel club meets flux pavilion

As you can see from the post below, it was exactly a week ago that we were told by Lewis (frontman of Chapel Club) that firm favourite in these parts, Flux Pavilion, would soon be releasing his remix of CC's 'All The Eastern Girls'. You've probably guessed where this post is heading, so without further ado here is Josh's big mix for your streaming pleasure.
