I'm fully aware that I recently suggested that The Red One a.k.a. La Roux is the spitting image of the Ghost of Christmas Past from Robert Zemekis' new version of the classic A Christmas Carol. I also suggested that, perhaps, she has drifted off the pop radar for the time being. I think I might be able to speak for everyone here: In For The Kill, it's Skream remix and Bulletproof have all been played to death. However, are we forgetting Quicksand? Yes, apparently we are as Elly has decided to re-release her debut single, which last year only peaked at 153 in the UK charts. How naive we were.

Alex Metric, the chap who just about saved Bloc Party in my books, has transformed Quicksand into a punchy, modern and moderately euphoric remix that will surely be favoured by the hippest DJs and, thus, prove tricky not to dance to.

Oh and keep your ears open for these big ones tonight at Flirt.
